Team Building in 5th Grade
Team building is in full swing in fifth grade! Every Friday, students work in teams to participate in engaging challenges as they work together to get to know one another and improve communication skills.
Students were randomly placed on teams that participate each week in activities developed to foster communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Teams collaborated to design a team flag and completed a “Back to Back” drawing that focused on listening skills and following directions. The year began with a STEM Raft Challenge that connected with the book, Hatchet, that students were encouraged to read over the summer. Other challenges have included “Keeping The Balloon Afloat” and “Get to Know Your Teammates Relay”. The enthusiasm and engagement levels are palpable as they plead with their teachers to do more.
