Saving Fred + Sam STEM Challenges
James H. Bean School students in Miss. Saucier’s second grade class completed an exciting STEM task that required students to work together to solve Fred the Worm’s problem! Fred’s boat capsized, and his life vest was underneath the boat! Students had to help Fred upright his boat and strap on his life vest, all without touching him! Second graders worked together to create their plan to save Fred, and then put their plans in action. There was so much excitement in the classroom once the students were successful with the task!
Fifth grade students in Mrs. Kanhai-Singh’s classroom also worked on team building skills while engaging in a STEM activity. Their challenge was “Saving Sam!” Groups of students worked together – sharpening their critical thinking skills, teamwork skills, and communication skills. #WeAreRSU18 #JHBdragons
