Life Cycle + Wintering Habits of Monarch Butterflies

James H. Bean book buddies in Miss Lundquist’s kindergarten class and Mrs. Chaput’s third grade class have been learning all about the life cycle and wintering habitats of monarch butterflies. Both classes are participating in Journey North’s Symbolic Migration. They will be sending symbolic butterflies to Mexico. These kindergarteners and third graders have been observing and recording their habitat. They read about monarch butterflies and made life cycle models of the monarch butterfly. They sent their living butterflies off to Mexico with a song and made symbolic butterflies to send to Mexico as well (pictured: student cards and butterfly diagram) – which will stay with Mexican school children until the monarchs migrate north in the spring. #WeAreRSU18 #JHBdragons
