Festive Floats and Innovative Thinking
At James H. Bean, Mrs. Bibeau’s second graders and Mrs. Dutil’s multiage class spent the two days before Thanksgiving break learning about the history of The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. They read the book Balloons Over Broadway and engaged in comprehension activities, vocabulary matching, and character trait analysis exercises. To wrap up this festive learning, the students were asked to create their own balloons that they would like to see in The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The students got very creative and used the prior knowledge they gained from their focus text and learning activities to complete this project. #WeAreRSU18 #JHBdragons
